Recap of the first partner Open workout at Carousel CrossFit
Well folks, we did it. We survived the first workout of the 2020 (I know it confuses me too) CrossFit Open!
Friday Night Lights went off with a bang at 6pm, and if you’re anything like me your traps are still sore from muscling cleaning and muscle snatching.
The work out, partner style, was:
15 minute AMRAP
10 burpees over the bar
Partners could split reps anyway they wanted, with most choosing to go 4/4 on the G2OH and 5/5 on the burpees.
If you did this workout either as an individual or partner you know that it was a LONG 15 minutes. The G2OH could be power clean and presses or power snatches, with most teams choosing power snatches since they are faster than power clean and presses. The burpees over the bar quickly made your body feel like you were clawing your way out of quick sand, and if you’re anything like me you doubted your ability to clear the bar on the jump within the first 6 minutes.
But our teams did great, constantly moving and communicating with their partners throughout the 15 minutes. In the end, the final top scores were:
Eric R and Ang: 16 rounds and 3 reps
Carly and Ari: 15 rounds and 12 reps
Kurt and Jamie: 14 rounds and 8 reps
